Bulgaria Update 2

Wednesday, Oct 28th

Hello Everyone,

Last Sunday was a full and rewarding time. In the morning I taught in a city called Strajitsa and in the city of Veliko Turnovo in the evening.

Strajitsa, population of about 4,500 people is about 25 minutes from where I am staying in Veliko Turnovo. The associate pastors, Iilko and Hristalina from a foursquare church in Veliko Turnovo are pioneering this new church plant. It is currently a house church composed mostly of gypsies and Turkish people. In the house, 10 children and about 8 women attended. We sang a few worship songs, received the offerings and dismissed the children to Sunday school upstairs and I taught on the "I AMs of Jesus in the gospel of John. Jesus declares, He the our bread, light, door, resurrection, way, truth, life and vine to remain in. I reminded us that Jesus, not religion, rules, ritual, or the government is our provision or hope, but the person of Jesus.
The highlight of the time was to lay hands one at time on the adults present with Pastor Iilko and pray for their individual needs and to trust God that he will be answering our prayers. I felt like I was like Jesus that morning...being amidst children and "people groups" which are poor and for the most part marginalized.

"When you give a luncheon or a dinner, do not invite your friends or your brothers, or your relatives, or rich neighbors..., but when you give a reception, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind and you will be blessed; although they can't repay you, you will be paid at the resurrection of the righteous." (Luke:12-13).

I appreciate your prayers,

Jason
